メモラビリア展示限定販売のCDがpianola recordsとEM Records限定にて販売開始しました！
山中透と古橋悌二による初期のダムタイプ音楽活動の功績を振り返り、1985年の「睡眠の計画」と1986年の「庭園の黄昏」を初めてレコードとして復刻するconatala/pianola recordsと、山中透の新作リリースを控えるEM Records（エム・レコード）による共同企画のメモラビリア展が開催されます。この展覧会では、山中透が自宅で録音していた宅録デモ音源集と、ダムタイプ以前に山中透と古橋悌二がかつて組んでいたNEW WAVEバンドR-STILLの音源を収めたスペシャルCDが販売されます。
山中氏は、プログレッシヴ・ロックやNEW WAVEをバンドで志向した時期を経て、スティーヴ・ライヒ、ヴィム・メルテン、フィリップ・グラスにはじまり、ミニマル・ミュージックと前衛パフォーマンスを掛け合わせたローリー・アンダーソン、メレディス・モンク、ロバート・ウィルソンなどに触発され、よりオルタナティヴな音楽性を追求していきました。このアーカイブには、彼の模索の過程に残された宅録実験の記録と、関西NEW WAVE史に刻まれるべきR-STILLの音源を加え、山中氏の軌跡を辿ります。 会場販売300枚限定。
Reflecting on the early musical achievements of Toru Yamanaka and Teiji Furuhashi in Dumb Type, conatala/pianola records will reissue their 1985 work "Plan of Sleep" and 1986 work “Every Dog Has His Day" on vinyl for the first time. In collaboration with EM Records, which is preparing to release Toru Yamanaka’s new work, a memorabilia exhibition will be held. This exhibition will feature a special CD containing home-recorded demo tracks by Yamanaka and recordings of the NEW WAVE band R-STILL, which Yamanaka and Furuhashi formed before Dumb Type.
Yamanaka pursued a more alternative musical style after a period of exploring progressive rock and NEW WAVE with his band. He was influenced by a wide range of artists, starting with Steve Reich, Wim Mertens, and Philip Glass, and extending to Laurie Anderson, Meredith Monk, and Robert Wilson, who combined minimal music with avant-garde performance. This archive includes home-recorded tracks documenting his exploratory process and studio recordings of R-STILL, tracing Yamanaka's musical journey. The special CD will be available for sale at the venue, limited to 300 copies.
